Yesterday our e-Box broke down
Posted: Tuesday, April 11, 2006 9:07 AM (PST)

Dear Mr/Ms:

Yesterday our e-Box broke down!!   When it was connected to the PC, it can be found (actually we can see its signal), but we can not download any OS image into it at all, I don't know why.  What's more,  it can not boot whatever option we choose when it is opened up.  I just don't know why.

I'm so afraid of it really breaks down. Please help us.

                                                                                 Sincerely,

                                                                                2006.04.11

Try these things to help diagnose your problem...

  1. Verify that you are using a hub with a standard patch cable, or are directly connected to your workstation ethernet port using a cross over cable.
  2. Verify that the eBox is assigned an IP address (form your DHCP server), or use the eBox boot option with a fixed IP address.  If you use the latter, be sure to set your workstation to the same subnet.
  3. Verify that you have configured the eBox connection using the “Target Device Connectivity Options“ dialog and that you can see it in the list box as an available platform when using the Ethernet option and the Settings button.
  4. If your download is succeeding, check for error messages appearing in the Platform Builder Output window, and post in this forum so that we can assist you further.
