Require two serial ports
Posted: Friday, April 07, 2006 6:24 AM (PST)

Hi,

I require two serial RS-232 ports fro interfacing from the ebox. However, since there is only one available I have come up with the following possible solutions:

1. use the PS/2 port as a serial port

2.use the usb port and then further connect a usb to RS232 converter

I would like to know which of the options would be more efficient and easier to implement. What are the reqirements for implementing either of the two?

I would be using C as the programming platform.

Thank you

vamsi

The following post on this forum provides a reference to a USB to RS232 converter:

hi chidli! We used a locally available usb to serial convertor of BAFO brand and found the Windows ce driver here and successfully tested the driver on our ebox. http://www.bafo.com/support2.asp
