Some questions about SiS55X
Posted: Thursday, April 06, 2006 1:17 AM (PST)

Hello, jywilson~

here I come again to ask u a question about the CPU core of EBoxII. According to the datasheet of Vortex86. There is a line told me that”cpu power states include C0,C1,C2...”, and here is my question: Is there state talked in the sheet means the CPU allows low down its dominant frequency when the power runs low? Or are there difference among these state? I have looked through the datasheet and there is not any more information about this question :( . Still, is the state changing automatically according to the power detecting by the core or we can program on this change? Like when the power is lower than 5V but above 3.3V,it could still work at a state?

Thank for your patients and time to answer my question!

I believe that the CPU does slow down its frequency in the lower power states.  However, there are no voltage scaling features on the Vortex86.
